Throughout the years, one of the company's founders and today's sole owner, Don Walston, has always focused on serving the industry and the community in which the company has prospered. In the late 1990's the HPW Foundation was formed so that sales associates and employees could have a forum, through the company, for serving the communities in which they live. The Howard Perry and Walston Foundation supports such endeavors as Habitat for Humanity, school programs, programs for the poor and needy, and victims of breast cancer, among others. In 2005 Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston joined with Coldwell Banker's nationwide effort to build 100 New Homes for Habitat for Humanity throughout the nation. The HPW Foundation pledged to raise more than $150,000 to personally construct 3 homes in the Triangle area in 2006.
